Woods family papers [manuscript] 1750-1904.

Manuscripts relating to the Woods family including Thomas Lee's land patent to William Woods for land on Mechum's River, 1750; roll of officers in the 47th Virginia Militia, 1827; typed memorandum regarding Micajah Woods and the McCue Trial, 1904; and an issue of the Greenbrier Independent, Vol. XX, no. 7 (July 23, 1885) containing an obituary of John R. Woods. In addition the collection contains articles of incorporation for the Chihahua & Santa Eulalia Mining Company, Mexico, undated; a tribute "The late Dr. Thomas Creigh," undated; and photostats of Woods family Bible Records, pasted over with news clippings. There are also assorted clippings including death notices for children Thomas Creigh and Sallie R. Woods and Thomas Massie and Chalres Philip Massie from typhoid; obituaries for Mrs. John A. Preston, Judge Egbert R. Watson and Samuel Price; sentimental poems; and remarks by Samuel Price on the death of Allen Taylor Capertoon.
